Mission Statement:
It is
Calls Club's mission to teach, promote and support the sport of
wrestling. We intend to teach each wrestler of the club;
excellent sportsmanship along with excellent wrestling skills.
The coaches and other volunteers associated with Calls Club are here
for the love of wrestling, the oldest and greatest sport on earth.
Club Expectations:
1. Attitude
-
Calls Club prides itself on
its coaches, wrestlers and parents showing excellent sportsmanship
and great attitudes.
-
Calls Club believes bad
attitudes reflect poorly on our wrestlers and club.
2. Practice
-
Calls Club has a limited
number of practices each week and wrestlers are expected to attend
practice and be on time.
-
Calls Club expects its
wrestlers to participate in practice and pay attention to the
coaches.
-
Calls Club expects the
wrestlers and parents to respect the coaches. They volunteer
their time and experience because they love the sport of wrestling
and wish to see the sport grow.
-
Calls Club encourages parents
to be involved in practice by helping their child as well as others.
-
If you have an issue to discuss with the coaching
team, please let Tom know and he will arrange a time after practice.
This will allow the other wrestlers to have uninterrupted practice
time.
-
It is important that all who enter remove their
street shoes prior to walking into the wrestling room.
Wrestlers are to carry their wrestling shoes in and have them for
indoor use only. Dirt can be carried in on shoes/boots
especially in the winter. This can cause skin irritation and
unnecessary wear on the wrestling mats.
-
No food is allowed in the wrestling room. Only
water is allowed in the wrestling room as spills of "pop",
"Gatorade" or "Powerade" type can be sticky and difficult to clean
up when spilled. The wrestlers may keep sports drinks outside
of the wrestling room. NO POP!!!
3. Wrestling Meets
-
Calls Club coaches and parents
attempt to schedule one meet each weekend for the team to attend as
a whole.
-
Wrestlers are expected to
shake hands before and after each match and conduct themselves in an
appropriate manner, which reflects positively on the team.
-
Parents are responsible for
their child's registration, weigh-in and transportation for each
meet they wish to attend.
