WRESTLING 101

OFFENSE

  • Be aggressive (Don't let your opponent dictate the match)
  • Hand control (Two on One)
  • Setup up shot (Shuffle, Push and Pull, Head Position)
  • Take Down and Score (Single/Double Leg)
  • Work Pinning Combination (Half, Butcher)
  • Finish! (Keep opponent down on mat!)

DEFENSE

  • Hand Control (If you have his hand he can't shoot)
  • Head Position (Block his moves with your head)
  • Cross Face (Opponent takes a bad shot)
  • Sprawl (Spin around to score)
  • Stale Mate (Bad position on shot-don't let go of leg)
  • Mat Awareness (Out of bounds)

BASICS

  • Stance (Butt down, Head up, Hands in front, Elbows in)
  • Heel, toe, knee (Good shots!)
  • Single Leg (Foot on outside, Head inside)
  • Double Leg (Foot splits legs, Head in stomach)
  • Good Base (Build up and Go!)
  • Stand Up (Hand control, Hips out)
